We are pleased to announce that we are holding an Open Day at the shooting ground with the novice shooter in mind. This day is designed to give a real boost to anyone who is contemplating taking up clay pigeon shooting as a new sport.

We are inviting you to have a clay shooting experience under the watchful eye of an experienced shooting instructor. All equipment will be provided including suitable protective equipment, all clays, cartridges and the use of a shotgun suited to your stature. Your instructor who will guide you through gun safety and how to successfully shoot a variety of clay targets.

After you have had your shooting experience, you may like to observe other people having the same type of experience or talk to members of staff who will be able to answer any question relating to any aspect of this fascinating and exciting sport. These days are very sociable and you will meet other people who are keen to get started just like you and so this when new friendships can start. A drink and a snack will be provided within the cost.

There will be a variety of shotguns available to try out but it is important that we choose a gun that will suit you well. If you are an existing shooter you are very welcome to try out our demonstration guns – just ask!

After attending days like this in the past, many people have loved the experience so much that they have welcomed the opportunity to book one to one shooting lessons. Today is exactly the same and you will be able to book a course of 4 lessons for the discounted price of £270.00 as an adult saving a total of £49.80 or as a junior for £200.00 saving £39.80 on the normal price.

Eventually, if you become a licenced shotgun owner, you will be able to become a club member of HWSG with a discounted first year price of £75.00 as a result of attending this event.

Pre-booking is essential for this event and there are time slots available throughout the day.
