Coronavirus News Update

This is a message to say that HWSG  is open at the moment for Clay Pigeon shooting and shooting lessons.

This includes Club Shooting on the traditional Saturday, Wednesday and every second Sunday morning.

In addition, we are opening up the shooting ground for Club Shooting on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Same shooting times as normal, start at 10.00 and finished by 12.45 with strict last entry at 11.30. The idea is to spread out the shooting opportunities throughout the week so reducing the number of people shooting at any one time. All Club Shooting is for licence holders only and please contact us to arrange your session on a Tuesday or Friday by telephone on 01527 65496 or email on info@hwsg.co.uk. Non-members who are licence holders are very welcome.

In addition, we are taking steps to keep everyone as safe as possible:

·        Ample squirty hand wash in the toilets along with disposable paper towels.

·        All work surfaces, door handles and the credit card machine are cleaned regularly throughout the day. Special attention will be paid to cleaning the Claymate machines and handsets regularly.

·        Everyone entering the shooting ground is encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly and then again before leaving the shooting ground.

·        All guns used in shooting lessons are cleaned with wipes before and after every lesson.

We realise that some people may prefer to stay at home which is understandable. However, you may like to use this time to have any work carried out on your shotgun that might be required. This may include the annual service or more extensive work where we would need your shotgun for longer than the normal 7 days turnaround time. An example of this is to refinish or to touch up the stock wood work as it takes a number of weeks for the finish to dry properly.

If there is any change to these difficult circumstances we will update you as soon as possible.

Best wishes and stay safe,

The HWSG Team
